In the natural world, the seahorse stands apart. It is the father who carries the young — nurturing his babies in his pouch, sustaining them, and bringing them into the world through labour. A quiet, extraordinary devotion that exists largely unseen beneath the surface of the ocean.
 
This piece began as a study of form and texture, but became something more personal. The floral detail layered across the body of the seahorse speaks to the tenderness within strength — beauty woven into armour. A meditation on fatherhood, on the weight we carry willingly, and on the love that shapes us without ever asking for recognition.
