Working on my art comes from the heart and I'm so grateful I've found my passion, however it hasn't ever been said that following your heart is easy. There have been many screwed up bin worthy pieces of mine. They are my lessons... Someone told me to set the failed pieces on fire and give a moment of gratitude!! Haven't yet done that, maybe I will gather them all and have a bonfire on the beach! Who's coming? I'll bring the marshmallows.
I look back at my works I did 2 years ago and I cringe, I almost want to take them off my social media, however they tell a story of growth. The story of how I started, which path I took, the start of me using charcoal and producing pet portraits. Then the lessons I took with the pet portraits recreating fur, I then went on to use those techniques to create large wildlife artworks.
When you can't look forward, look back and see how far you've come. It's such a motivator!
